What “cheap” means for a Blender render farm

“Cheap render farm” usually mixes two bills: renting a GPU by the hour, and paying for finished frames. Those are not comparable until you know how long your frame actually takes. A slow scene on a cheap hourly box is not cheap. A fast scene on a high hourly box might be.

Hourly rental is a bet on your scene

If you rent a card for $X/hour and the frame takes three hours, you paid 3X for one frame. If it takes four minutes, you paid a slice of X. You cannot know which you got from a homepage. You only know after you time the scene.

FARPY does not claim to undercut every hourly host. We do not publish competitor prices, and we do not invent a savings percentage against “typical farms.”

A per-frame quote is a different contract

The public FARPY rate is rendering from 1¢ per completed Blender Cycles frame ($0.01), $0.01 minimum. The total you accept is the exact fixed quote for the frame range you selected. Scene complexity does not change that per-frame rate.

That can look inexpensive for a 100-frame playblast-scale shot ($1.00 if all complete) and still be the wrong tool if you needed EEVEE, a 200 MiB file, or 20,000 frames. Cheap is only meaningful inside the limits that actually apply.

What you are not buying

You are not buying an hour of exclusive hardware advertised as a discount. You are not buying a coupon. You are buying completed frames at the quoted cents, after you have seen the quote, for a Blender 4.1.1 Cycles GPU .blend at or under 100 MiB, 1–10,000 frames.

If a host promises a percentage discount without stating the unit — hour, GPU, or frame — they have not given you a contract. Ask for the unit. Ours is completed frames, quoted before start.

See the number before money moves

Upload on the homepage, read the quote, then start. Pricing spells out the same rate. The calculator can show frame-count arithmetic for planning; it is not the live quote. Proof and receipts exist for completed work, not for a savings claim.

Questions for this problem

Is 1¢/frame lower than every other farm?

We do not claim that. 1¢ per completed frame is FARPY’s public rate. Whether that beats hourly rental depends on your time-per-frame, which we do not know until you time the scene.

Does a heavier scene cost more per frame?

No. The public per-frame rate does not change with samples, polycount, or resolution. The quote is still frame count at that rate. A heavier scene can take longer; it does not change the cents per completed frame.
